Your Paper–Increasing the Odds of Its Acceptance at a High Impact Journal

Finding the funding, mentorship and milieu to do the research that results in writing a manuscript is difficult. Once it is written, you want to enhance the chance that it will be accepted into a journal and a well-regarded one at that. In this session, Dr. Ingelfinger talked about optimizing your chances of acceptance into a high impact journal.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants learned to:
• Craft a workable outline for his/her report of clinical or basic research.
• Determine his/her next steps in writing a manuscript to submit to a high impact journal.
• Complete the necessary steps to complete the submission process.

Target Audience: This activity was intended for faculty and faculty trainees.

Presenter: Julie Ingelfinger, MD, a long-time Deputy Editor at the New England Journal of Medicine, a Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, and Senior Consultant, Pediatric Nephrology Unit, MassGeneral for Children at MGH.
