Neuroscience Grand Rounds 2022-2023

MRI Methods for Crossing Scales in Neuroscience

Objectives:
Through the review of specific example studies, gain an understanding of:

  1. Understand the benefits, challenges, and solutions to directly relating MRI to microscopy
  2. Overview the aims and challenges of imaging at population scale
  3. Describe how these parallel threads of research advance may dovetail to provide novel contributions to neuroscience

Presenter:
Karla Miller is a biomedical engineer at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging in Oxford. She is interested in developing novel MRI techniques, understanding their relationship to neurobiology, and deploying these techniques to enable novel neuroscience investigations. Current themes in her work include big data, integrated acquisition and analysis, and relating MRI to microscopy. She also is passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion in academia.
