In commemoration of Faculty Development Month, the Center for Faculty Development invites you to the twelfth annual Nancy J. Tarbell, MD, Faculty Development Lecture Series. The lecture series was established to honor Dr. Tarbell’s dedication and leadership. She was the founding Director of both the MGH Center for Faculty Development and the Office for Women’s Careers where she was instrumental in advancing and promoting the academic careers of MGH faculty.

In this session, Dr. Chopra gives cogent, practical advice on how to mentor, from screening potential mentees to encouraging them to become mentors themselves, and on how to be a good mentee, from selecting appropriate mentors to being an energy donor rather than a passive recipient.

Featured Speaker: Vineet Chopra, MD, MSc is a tenured Associate Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine and Research Scientist at the University of Michigan and VA Ann Arbor Health System. A career hospitalist, Dr. Chopra’s research and clinical interests are dedicated to improving the safety of hospitalized patients through prevention of hospital-acquired complications. Dr. Chopra has also focused much of his research interest on the art and science of mentoring and has published several papers in Harvard Business Review, Annals of Internal Medicine, JAMA, BMJ among others on this topic.
