December 9, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST
Sponsored by the Center for Faculty Development’s Office for Clinical Careers, the Magic Wand Initiative, and the MGH Springboard Studio
The “Virtual Water Cooler Series: Demystifying Innovation” is a new series to create a collaborative space for clinical faculty looking to bridge into innovation.
Have an idea to improve care delivery at MGH but don’t know where to start? Dr. Rox Anderson talked about his own innovation journey at MGH, how he first started and where he is now as the holder of over 60 national and international patents. Specifically, Dr. Anderson shined a light on intellectual property and the process of filing an invention disclosure form for your innovation.
Speaker: Richard “Rox” Anderson, MD, is a Professor of Dermatology at MGH, Director of the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, and adjunct Professor of Health Sciences and Technology at MIT. Dr. Anderson conceived and developed many of the non-scarring laser treatments now widely used in medical care. These include treatments for birthmarks, microvascular and pigmented lesions, tattoo and permanent hair removal. He has also contributed to treatment for vocal cords, kidney stones, glaucoma, heart disease, photodynamic therapy for cancer and acne, and optical diagnostics.
Moderated by Lilit Garibyan, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Dermatology, “Magic Wand Initiative” and Kristian Olson, MD, MGH Springboard Studio
