Fun Fridays: Musical Transformations: Stories of LGBTQ Music and Culture

Fun Fridays offer a refreshing mid-day break from work to indulge in physical, mental, or creative activity.

The 2021 Community Performances and Partnerships String Quartet at New England Conservatory presented an educational program connecting classical music repertoire to histories of LGBTQ culture across place and time. The quartet presented a program of canonic classical works ranging from Mozart and Schumann to Benjamin Britten, paired alongside with stories of gender variance, queer culture, and LGBTQ narratives in contemporary music performance.
