Image Guided Neurosurgery: Technology and Collaborations for Precise and Personalized Neurosurgical Care
Through the review of specific example studies, gain an understanding of:
- Participants will be able to describe a number of innovations in imaging which provide the basis for personalized care of patients undergoing neurosurgery
- Participants gain insight into challenges associated with translation of technology to clinical care
- Participants will learn about efforts to disseminate technology to improve neurosurgical care
Alexandra J. Golby, MD is a Neurosurgeon, Director of Image-guided Neurosurgery, Co-director of the Advanced Multi-modality Image guided OR (AMIGO), and Director of the clinical fMRI service at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She is Professor of Neurosurgery and Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Golby holds the Haley Distinguished Chair in the Neurosciences at BWH. She is also Principal Investigator of Golby Lab, a surgical brain mapping laboratory. Dr. Golby has special clinical interests in brain surgery for patients with brain tumors and epilepsy, especially those lesions which are intimately associated with critical brain structures.
