Neural, Vascular, and Cerebrospinal Fluid Dynamics of the Sleeping Brain
Objectives:
Through the review of specific example studies, gain an understanding of:
- Understand how sleep changes fluid flow in the brain.
- Learn how new neuroimaging technologies can enable us to track neural and fluid dynamics in humans.
- Learn how changes in neuronal activity influence brain physiology during sleep.
Presenter: Laura Lewis, PhD, Athinoula A. Martinos Associate Professor in IMES and EECS at MIT.
Dr. Lewis completed her Ph.D. in Neuroscience, and conducted postdoctoral work in neuroimaging, at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Society of Fellows at Harvard University.
