Neuroscience Grand Rounds 2023-2024
Towards Circuit-Based Precision Neuromodulation of the Healthy and Pathological Brain
Through the review of specific example studies, gain an understanding of:
- How the combination of neuroimaging and brain stimulation might allow to fingerprint individual brains and tell us more about brain function and disease.
- How computational modeling might help understand brain diseases and accelerate testing of novel therapeutics by simulating brain dynamics.
- How personalized non-invasive brain stimulation can be applied in patients with dementia and brain tumors.
Presenter: Emiliano Santarnecchi, PhD, Associate Professor of Radiology & Neurology at HMS.
Dr. Santarnecchi also serves as the director of the Precision Neuroscience & Neuromodulation program (PNN) and the Network Control Laboratory at MGH. His research combines multimodal neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and computational modeling to understand brain function and to guide personalized Non-invasive Brain Stimulation (NiBS) solutions for patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions.
