Neuroscience Grand Rounds 2023-2024
Towards Circuit-Based Precision Neuromodulation of the Healthy and Pathological Brain

Objectives:
Through the review of specific example studies, gain an understanding of:

  1. How the combination of neuroimaging and brain stimulation might allow to fingerprint individual brains and tell us more about brain function and disease.
  2. How computational modeling might help understand brain diseases and accelerate testing of novel therapeutics by simulating brain dynamics.
  3. How personalized non-invasive brain stimulation can be applied in patients with dementia and brain tumors.

Presenter: Emiliano Santarnecchi, PhD, Associate Professor of Radiology & Neurology at HMS.

Dr. Santarnecchi also serves as the director of the Precision Neuroscience & Neuromodulation program (PNN) and the Network Control Laboratory at MGH. His research combines multimodal neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and computational modeling to understand brain function and to guide personalized Non-invasive Brain Stimulation (NiBS) solutions for patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions.
