begins Friday, October 18, 2024
8:00-9:30 am EST
Co-sponsored by the MGH Benson Henry Institute and the Center for Faculty Development
SMART is an evidence-based curriculum designed to enhance health and wellbeing. It covers mind-body skills and healthy lifestyles. In this interactive cohort, participants will engage with their peers in a confidential setting. Practical skills which can be used in the day-to-day practice of medicine make this cohort unique. There is a session every Friday with the exception of November 29. You may claim 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for each session attended.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants were able to:
- Bring mindfulness into the daily practice of medicine.
- Reframe thought patterns to cope better with day-to-day stressors in clinical practice.
- Understand the science of mind-body medicine, and incorporate meditative techniques to elicit the Relaxation Response, the body’s innate stress buffer into daily life.
Target Audience: This activity is intended for physicians with any specialty.
Course Director: Joshua N. Goldstein, MD, PhD, Director, Center for Faculty Development (CFD) and Professor of Emergency Medicine
Presenter: Liz Lincoln, MD, practices primary care at MGH, is a consultant at the Benson Henry Institute, and is an MGB faculty coach.
