Session 7 of the Social Media Series
In this final session of the Social Media Series, Dr. Wong weighed in on the importance of physicians utilizing social media to create their own online narratives. She shared tips for crafting a personal branding strategy and creating relevant and engaging content.
Presenter: Rupa Wong, MD, is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist who trained at Boston Children’s Hospital, wife, mother, entrepreneur, and the managing partner of Honolulu Eye Clinic for the past 13 years, also serving as Clinical Associate Professor at University of Hawaii School of Medicine. She has been featured on the Best Doctors Lists since 2010 and was even featured on the cover of Honolulu magazine for that issue.
Dr. Wong pursues passion projects including founding a women’s medical conference, Pinnacle Conference, and a membership site, The Attending Lounge, dedicated to empowering female pre-meds, med students and residents with the mindset necessary to grow into confident attending physicians. Her non-profit work exemplifies her commitment to children in the community, as well as medical education, and includes serving on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii, Project Vision and Association for Healthcare in Social Media, for which she was a Founding Member.
Dr. Wong is active on social media where she discusses harmonizing work and life as well as eye health and addresses the gaps in business knowledge that medical school does not teach.
