GRANT WRITING COURSE – FALL 2022
Session 1: “Before You Write”
Thursdays from October 13 to December 15, 2022 at 12:00-1:00 pm
This 8-week Grant Writing Course, created by the MGH Science Writing Group led by Becca Ward, PhD, returns for the second year. It was open to all MGH faculty and trainees. There is no requirement to attend every session, but you are highly encouraged to do so.
This first session “Before You Write,” led by Dr. Ward, focused on the following topics:
- Finding funding opportunities and responding
- Determining the appropriate grant mechanisms for your idea
- Selecting the appropriate institute: Pay lines and institute mission
- Reviewing FOA/RFA
- Knowing your audience: Review the study section/advisory board
- Creating a Writing Schedule and Writing Checklist
- Staying Organized While Writing
- Communicating with Grant Management Team
